What is iTero™ dental technology?
iTero™ dental technology is an intraoral scanning system. It is used to create 3D models of a patient's teeth and gums with high accuracy. Here's how it works:
Scans the patient’s mouth
A beam of light emits from a small, handheld wand capturing images and the data points of the patient’s teeth and gums.
Creates 3D models
Data points are used to build a digital model of the patient's mouth. This model is used to plan dental treatments, such as orthodontic and Invisalign braces, crowns, veneers and bridges.
Simulates dental treatment
With easy planning and visualisation of the proposed dental treatment, its outcomes are clear to see.
Ensures accurate fabrication
Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology creates accurate restorations such as crowns and bridges from 3D models.
NIRI (Near-Infrared Imaging Technology)
We can use NIRI to scan teeth and see inside them without using X-rays, which can be harmful. This helps us understand teeth better and treat them more accurately.
